Because I only got 18.7 mpgs on my last tank. And after a long day of freeway driving today, it appears that this tank will be equally bad. It should be getting 22 miles per gallon, minimum, but it’s plummeted over the last year or so. Actually got 25 when I first bought it.
I guess I have to try to tinker with that carb again... Carburetors give me serious anxiety. They’re powered by black magic. Then there’s the vacuum leaks, worn suspension bushings. Who knows what else!
Here’s a picture of the dog right now, because she still leaks less than my pickup.
Also kinja mobile is now rotating my images 90 degrees instead of the usual upside-down.

That'll make the dog dizzy. Hope she doesn't puke on your couch because of it.

I was getting 28 on the highway today..... I’m supposed to get 36. Thanks Obama.

This couch should be completely ruined within the next six months. Seven dollars and four years down the drain. Starting to see a pattern with my purchases of durable goods yet?

Alas, the couch’s finish will hide the scratches better than the truck’s will.

maybe its time to do plugs & wires? I know i picked up quite a few mpgs on my old 97 Z28 when i finally swapped the plugs.

Lol, I wasn’t driving like a hoon this time!

Ughhhhh why can’t I have nice things

Sacrifices must be made

I actually have no idea. I was going 55 solid in 5th gear the entire time.

Wow your sequoia gets 24? How??
![]() 02/28/2016 at 20:45 |

Nah, my Ram 1500
![]() 02/28/2016 at 20:47 |

Oh, that makes much more sense.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 20:49 |

I have to drive like a grandma to get to 20MPG in the Sequoia. :/

Murano gets 17.5 mixed. 22 if I'm at 62mph and 17 max on the interstate. If I had more confidence in the safety features of the impala I would just cart the kids in that.

I just filled up my STI today and got 18.5mpg on my last tank. Fortunately it was only $31.00 to fill it and a tank usually gets me 2.5-3 weeks of driving (hurray for a 6.8 mile commute to work!)

Well it’s like the biggest damn SUV you can buy.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 20:52 |

It’s wider than the Ram which is hilarious.
But the Suburban and extended Expedition are bigger.

I now get less than 12, and have once achieved 2 mpg on one full tank. Bow down to the Toyota God’s of making small engines hilariously bad on gas.

You do have a nice thing. The dog. Don't be greedy. One nice thing per life.

My last fill up was 10.1...

Holy cow, what do you drive, a tank!

Basically — he drives a Land Cruiser.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:40 |

Probably doesn’t help that you have to drive well over 70mph on the freeways in Utah to keep up with traffic.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:50 |

You’re doing a lot better than my 4Runner, I’m lucky to see 18mpgs.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:53 |
|
So I guessed right then. I knew they were bad, but that's catastrophic.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:58 |

It’s like the only downside of owning a land cruiser though. I wish I had one.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:05 |

But you can't have nice things.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:10 |

Can’t even borrow nice things.

And drive something that will be noticed by all the brodozers. Driving a small car there is taking your life into your hands.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:24 |

Oh yeah, I remember. That truly sucked.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:27 |

There will be much worse days, I had to just let that go as soon as possible.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:33 |
|
Well said. That's the way to look at it if you're going to have a happy life.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:38 |
|
well to be fair, only 35 of those 142 miles were paved.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:39 |
|
Its been as low as 7.7, but that was a lot more low range than this trip. Though as I said to Dr. Z, 107 miles at 12.1 mph average will do that to you.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:43 |
|
Well I guess that's the trade off for being invincible on and off road.

In one of my cars, I dream of mileage that good. In the other, I haven't got it down that far (but understand it can go there).
